Summer Vacations are here with all the fun and frolic. Apart from enjoying we want the students to keep in touch with their studies also. Hence the holiday home work has been prepared keeping these points in mind. The holiday home work being given is creative and thought provoking. It can be done with some guidance from you and the teachers who will brief the students. We would request you to avoid taking any professional help.

HOLIDAY HOME WORK
CLASS – VII


SUBJECT : ENGLISH

Q. 1 Compulsory for all :

a) Write 10 proverbs in your language copy make a small illustration for each. Use them in sentences of your own.
b) Write 5 quotations in bold handwriting on colourful clouds cut out of pastel sheet. (One of each)


Roll No. 1 – 15

Q. 2 Collect information about the life and works of : (any one)

a) Baba Amte
b) Medha Patkar
c) Any other social worker known to you.

Paste pictures and the information on a scroll made of hand made sheet / leather sheet.
At the bottom, write 8-10 lines about ‘How they inspire me’. (refer to the fig. below)

Q. 3 Collect information about the life works of :

a) Anna Hazare
b) Kiran Bedi
c) Any other social worker known to you.

Paste the pictures in an attractive shape, cut out from a thick pastel sheet and write the information in neat bold handwriting.

Add a small paragraph on how they inspire you. (refer to the fig. below)

Q. 3 i) Make a poster on ‘Books : Our best friends’ or ‘ Books : Treasure Troves’.
ii) Write an attractive slogan, on this topic on the same poster, in bold letters.
iii) Give it an attractive border.

Q. 4 Prepare a wall hanging based on ‘My Mother’
i) First panel should have your recent photograph with your mother.
ii) Second panel should consist of a self composed poem or a letter addressed to your mother.
iii) Third panel should contain two columns.
A - What mummy does for you.
B - What you do for your mummy.
iv) Fourth and last panel may contain your mama’s dreams for you or her aspirations in life (See figure below)




SUBJECT : SCIENCE

Roll No. 1 - 15

Q. 1 Collect information about any three types of insectivorous plants from internet, reference books etc and prepare a poster which has the following details :

a) Pictures / diagrams of insectivorous plants.
b) How do they obtain food from insects ?
c) Why do they feed on insects even though they prepare their own food ?


OR

a) Collect atleast five samples of different types of silk. Identify the state where the type of silk is made, its characteristics & uses.
b) Draw a map of India on a chart paper & paste the sample & put all the information about it on the map.
c) Write a note on health hazard in sericulture on chart paper.

Q. 2 Make a chart of human digestive system using cut outs of the various organs on coloured card board sheets. Name any three diseases of digestive system with their causes & treatment.

SUBJECT : SOCIAL STUDIES

Q. 1 ASI or Archaeological Survey of India is restoring a number of buildings / monuments that are precious and have stood the test of time. The daily newspapers cover these news with photograph. Collect at least 5 such news items, along with photograph and paste them on half pastel sheet.

a) Give it an attractive title.
b) Make appropriate borders. Do not resort to using shimmering cello tapes.
c) Write a small note at the foot of the sheet on any of the following :-
i) Monuments are not slam books.
ii) My heritage my responsibility. (word limit 100 – 150 words)


OR

MY FAMILY HISTORY :

You are going to make a project on your family, but before you proceed follow these steps.

a) Sit with your parents and ask them about their grandparents (maternal / paternal – either of the two). Procure all possible information about them eg. their names, state where they originally hailed from, their family etc. Try to get their photograph if possible.

b) Now, collect all possible information about mama’s parents (your maternal grandparents) and papa’s too ( your paternal grandparents) along with photographs. Do not forget to ask them about their memories of the partition or any memorably event in their life times.

c) Next and last data collection is of your parents. Apart from the basic information quiz them about their childhood mischief’s, pranks, games and pastimes. Try to get some good photographs of their childhood also.

d) Make your project in either of the following ways :

Or any other creative manner. The presentation and narration should be your own.

OR

Locate any building / temple / relic / shop / tree or human being, which / who is 100 years old. (It could be 95 – 100 onwards)

Make a project on the person / place gathering as much information as you can. Topic downloaded only from the net will not be accepted –research should be done by you in your area, locality or family. Present your project, enriched with photographs in your own hand writing in an attractive manner.

Q. 2 Make a scrap book showing different political parties along with their election symbols and their representation in lok sabha.

OR

Make a model on any one of the following :-

a) Water Cycle b) Layers of Atmosphere c) Structure of Biosphere

SUBJECT : COMPUTER

Prepare a project file / scrap book an any one topic of the following :
• To plan a holiday online.
• How computers are being used in your school.

2. Roll No. 16 till last

Prepare a chart on any one topic of the following :
a) Tools used in Flash b) Computer Gaming c) Cyber crime

SUBJECT : GERMAN

1. Roll No. 1 - 15

To be done as a Wall Hanging : Illustrate a proverb( in German) along with its meaning in English.

To be done in form of a scrap book : Sehenwurdigkeiten in Deutschland.

SUBJECT : MATHS

Prepare a chart or a scrap book ( project ) on the topics given below according to your Roll No.

1. Roll No. 1 - 15

Make a folder with a hand made sheet and decorate it with the beautiful figure made by a Tangram. The figure can be of any bird, animal or human. The folder is to be appropriately made.

Tangram : Seven pieces are cut from a square 10cm or 20 cm as required and these pieces are arranged to form figures.

1. Roll No. 16 till last

Prepare a crossword puzzle, using various mathematical terms. Such as :
a) Variable
b) Integers
c) Ray etc.




DOWN : One which does not have a fixed value.

ACROSS : Part of line which extends in one direction.

SUBJECT: HINDI AND SANSKRIT
